Valentine’s day when you’re waiting for the postie to push through all your admirer’s messages of love. Oh how they fall through the letterbox, making such a clatter as they hit the floor. Yeah right, the chances are that if you get a card you are very lucky! In Japan, did you know they treat Christmas Day like a Valentine’s day, a date day. Older relatives stay at home allowing young couples to go out to Dinner.
Personally I think this day should be called ‘Treat yourself day’. After emailing Net A Porter and Matches links to my other half hoping he gets the hint, ends up with me buying it. Then bartering for a 50/50 split. Romance is a negotiation in our house.
