What if I was to say to you that you’ll make it work ? I’m saying this to you while you can see no light at the end of the tunnel. Endless of days of putting content out on social media to get nothing back. Your working hard at trying to promote your dream and it seems hopeless. You know exactly who your real friends are. The ones that don’t only celebrate your achievements but are there to help you along the way. You’ll never forget those people, believe me.
Then when a band who you greatly admire not only like your brand but wear the jacket on stage. I won’t lie this blew me away. Johanna from the band First Aid Kit band, while on their Rebel’s Heart Tour at Cambridge, wore Vivienne on stage. She totally rocked it. She wore the jacket because she liked it, my design. Hell yes I will celebrate all the successes and there will be more to come I’m sure.
If you are reading this and trying to do something for yourself, I won’t lie, nothings easy. If it was easy it wouldn’t be worth having. Celebrate your journey and the fact that you managed to pull it together. I never imagined that I would be able to leave my buying job to set up my own website and brand. To also work as a freelance stylist which is another one of my greatest joys. Working with like minded creative people. Friends and relatives have noticed a big change in me. Little things like my dress sense is more ‘me’. My outlook has totally changed. I can finally say one thing that I haven’t been in a long time and that is H A P P Y.
You see journeys are not always about the end product it is what happens to you along the way ! The fact that Carol Vorderman wore the Alice jacket and it ended up in the Daily Express is a Silver lining bonus. Love Caroline X
